Brief Description: Minimum training requirements for police officers who seek certification by waiver of basic training

Full Description: 80 hours of minimum standards training and retraining on basic skills as outlined in Section 29-7-10 NMSA 1978 (Repl. Pamp. 1994) and 10.29.6.6 NMAC.

(CBW Applicant) I do hearby authorize any and all persons, organizations and agencies to release, furnish and exchange any and all information relating to me for the purpose of determining my eligibility and suitability to be certified as a law enforcement officer in the State of New Mexico. This authorizes release to the New Mexico Department of Public Safety - Law Enforcement Academy and the agency/agencies which I have submitted application for employment.

I do hereby release from any and all liability all persons or entities disclosing information pursuant to this release.

Directions to Location: From North and US Hwy 285/US-84: Take exit 278B/NM-14 N/State Hwy 14 N/Cerrillos Rd from I-25 S. Merge onto NM-14 N (Pass by McDonald's on right). Turn left onto Jaguar Dr. Take the first right into the DPS campus. Take a left to park at the upper parking lot. Academy entrance will be on your right as you proceed up a slight hill to parking lot and will have "Law Enforcement Academy" above entrance. From South: Take exit 278/NM-14 N/State Hwy 14 N/Cerrillos Rd from I-25 N. Merge onto NM-14 N (Pass by McDonald's on right). Turn left onto Jaguar Dr. Take the first right into the DPS campus.
